Caring Ways

Finding your way through cancer takes resources—people, information, research and support. And no matter if you’re a patient, a family member or a friend, you’ll find comfort and connection at the Caring Ways Cancer Resource Center. It’s your link to services, support groups, ideas and inspiration, including:

  • A library of helpful books, brochures, DVDs and CDs
  • Internet access, featuring Oncology Interactive, an in-depth cancer information program
  • Staff and volunteers who’ve been where you are now and who can quickly determine what will help the most
  • Knowledge of all available support groups
  • A private wig room, with assistance, advice and free supplies
  • Survivorship programs and classes designed for people touched by cancer

It’s much more than a resource library. It’s much larger than one room can contain. It’s a wayfinder for your personal cancer journey.

The Bridge Between Cancer and Answers

Cancer takes energy. Searching an endless sea of resources and information takes even more.

If you’re not sure where you’re headed, this is the place to start. Let us be your guide and compass. The journey is different for everyone, and no matter if you were just diagnosed or you’re a 15-year survivor, Caring Ways will help guide you. Our support groups and other programs are open to everyone, regardless of where you’re receiving care. And because most of our volunteers are cancer survivors, we understand the questions.

Your Caring Ways team also includes:

  • Social workers, helping you deal with everything from the shock of diagnosis to handling the household chores
  • Chaplains, offering support for the emotional and spiritual issues that often accompany cancer
  • Grief support counselors, providing education and assistance to people of all ages before and after the death of a loved one; offered by St. Mary’s Grief Support Services

Programs Include:

You are never alone with this disease, and there is never a shortage of support.
